Saundz Update – Fun Way to Practice Pronunciation We realize that many learners find the process of practicing pronunciation a bit boring and do not always feel it’s worthwhile. What we aim to achieve with Saundz is to emphasize the importance of proper pronunciation in the ESL/EFL world and make effective learning resources available to everybody. So, in order to make it possible for you to learn English pronunciation with more fun, we have decided to add some really interesting features to the app. These new features are intended to liven up your pronunciation learning process and thus make the whole experience even more effective. SEE ALSO: Speak English Clearly Trust us; you’re going to like these. Merit Badges The new feature we call “Merit Badges” is intended to make you feel more engaged when learning with Saundz. As you advance through the lessons, you’ll unlock some special acknowledgements of your achievements, which you will be able to share with your friends through the social channels of your choice. The badges can appear when you least expect them. For example, you will be rewarded with one when you pronounce your first diphthong correctly (don’t worry, you’ll learn what a diphthong is) or when you successfully submit a particular number of recordings. But let us not spoil too many surprises for you. It’s up to you to have fun discovering all of them Social Sharing As you discover more and more about American English pronunciation, you’ll feel increasingly confident about your skills and ever more proud of your achievements. And, well, why wouldn’t you share them with your friends? The new version of Saundz lets you share your earned badges with your friends on major social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. This way, you can let your friends know about your progress and sort of turn the whole pronunciation learning experience into a game. And we all know how much easier it is to learn through games. Choose a default native speaker You probably already know that in Saundz there are four different native speakers with whose speech you can compare your own recordings. Now you can choose the native speaker you want your voice compared to by default. If you cannot comfortably identify with Simone’s voice, for example, you can easily set one of the other three voices (young female, adult male or young male) as the default one, and compare all your recordings to it. More recordings So far, in Saundz you have been able to choose your three best recordings and send them to the server. Now the number of recordings you can send is unlimited and this will hopefully give you more motivation to practice. After all, this is the only thing you need to do – practice until you’re sure you’ve got it right. Saundz interesting? Go see for yourself, START your free trial now. And let us know what you think!
