Merit Badges – How do they help me learn?

The Saundz team is constantly working on making your pronunciation-learning experience more fun and effective. Recently, we’ve been focusing on the need for sustained motivation. For that reason, we’ve created some cool new features for you! Get ready for – merit badges!

These cool new virtual objects will keep you motivated throughout the Saundz program. And of course, you can share them with your friends on your social networks.

So, how does the idea work?

We are not going to reveal everything to you, but the main thing you need to remember is that after every big accomplishment, you will be rewarded! For example, after you record your first vowel, you will get a merit badge for that. And that’s just to get you started on your way to perfecting your English pronunciation. There is a long and exciting road ahead of you, and a lot more rewards coming your way if you diligently go through your tasks.

There are 27 merit badges waiting for you, and here are some tips for getting them:

1. Complete and submit as many recordings as you can.

Submit the ones you are most pleased with. We encourage you to repeat a task as many times as you need to in order to perfect your pronunciation. When you are satisfied with how you sound – submit the recording.

2. Finish as many lessons as you can in one sitting.

This way you will maintain continuity in learning. If you are afraid you might forget something – don’t worry! You can always go back and review the lessons later.

3. Master the most difficult sounds of the French, Chinese, German, Russian and Indian languages.

Saundz will guide you through the whole process; there is no cause for worry. There are special rewards for these accomplishments!

4. Be careful about diphthongs!

Don’t worry if you don’t know what those are; you will learn that too. Just do your best to pronounce them correctly.

5. Master consonants and vowels as presented in the program.

We advise sticking to the lesson plan presented. So, do your lessons one by one in an orderly way. The curriculum has been produced by experienced linguist experts; trust us – it makes sense. Once you finish the whole program, you will understand what we are talking about.

As you can see, we advise you to go through your lesson plan diligently. If you do this, there will be plenty of awards waiting for you. Some might appear when you least expect them!
